I have only had this jacket a few weeks and I already love it. This is my second KLIM jacket and after using this one I will probably never use another brand. I'm 6'1" tall, 48"chest and I bought an extra large. Its actually a little loose but that is perfect to add a base and or a mid layer when necessary. I have been riding to work and its been about 30 degrees Fahrenheit in the mornings. This jack with a base layer and a t shirt underneath is perfect. Seventy degrees in the afternoon no problem just a t shirt and open the vents on the jacket.
At last, A Goretex jacket that meets my needs (all year round)
by Gordon Rowe
At last I have finally found what I was looking for! A jacket that has a Goretex external which gives me a waterproof environment in any configuration. Most jackets have Goretex liners which means the liner must be installed to be waterproof. Extra layers means more heat! This jacket allows me to use my own base and mid layers as required. Comfortable and usable in any weather. With a tee-shirt and all the vents open it is comfortable at higher temperatures all day, and with layers or with heated clothing, is usable in any weather, and always waterproof! Fantastic quality of manufacture, great looking jacket and great value against the Goretex 'lined' competition. I got a slightly larger fit to allow me to build the layers underneath as appropriate.
Very Pleased… Exceptional Jacket
I need a top quality all around jacket that I can wear every day and this Klim Blade does the job perfectly. I love the over the top adventure jackets too but need something a little lighter, less complicated, and more portable. This is a serious riding jacket and it looks like one but it’s not over done. I ride the streets with a full bagger. It’s my everyday ride commuting, going to the store, weekend trips and multi-state cross country trips, sometimes with my wife on the back. It’s great for cold weather but when it gets really cold you will need a serious liner. The cut fits me well, it’s comfortable with or without liners. I ride in the teens up to about 80 degrees with this jacket. I’m behind full fairings. It would do well for the summer with all the vents but I live down south and when it gets hot I switch over to my mesh jacket. I have the large. I’m 5’-10”, 175 lbs, 42 to 44 chest
Impressed but a not perfect.
I back pack at age 70 and have been a fan of Gore-Tex for years I also ride a Harley so I finally decided to go for a Gore-Tex motorcycle jacket and Klim I must admit from all reviews is highly rated. Over all very pleased quality is excellent, fit is spot on I'm an XL and no complaints. But for my liking go to Velcro instead of snaps on the neck and a Velcro tuck back for the extra material on the neck flap overlap tab. I have already talked to my seamstress easy fix but I should not have to add this. Lack of forethought on Klim's part. I purchased the grey only because Klim does not make this jacket in a Hi Vis version. Duh!!! Again lack of forethought. First time with body amour, great choice very comfortable at this age HI Vis, body amour and a good year round jacket are a plus. So I will rate it at 4 1/2 stars out of five stars. Make a high Vis think a pattern like your Latitude, would look great, fix the color and I will sell my old leather Firstgear scout 3 on EBay.
Great Jacket...great price.
Starting my third riding season with a Blade Jacket. I've been in all day rain with this jacket with zero leaks. Great ventilation. However, does get warm above 85. When it gets warm, I switch to my Induction jacket that works fantastic. Since the Induction is not waterproof, the Blade jacket is a great for use on the cool and wet days when travelling. I also have a Latitude Jacket. The Blade packs smaller than the Latitude when short on space.
