I grew up in Roseau, Minnesota home of Polaris Industries. My dad, Jerry Bunke raced snowmobiles in the 70's and was a firt class snowmobile race champion. My dad was killed in 1978 when I was a year and a half old. He is the reason I am here and why I am doing this. I feel closer to him when I’m on my sled and at the race track. We share the same passion and drive for racing; figuring out how to make a snowmobile be the best it can be and having that competitive edge. Snowmobiles were my dad’s passion and I have that same fire burning inside me. Today I am actively involved in the United Stated Cross Country snowmobile racing circuit (USCC). In 2010 I started a race team, Bunke Racing. I enjoy working with others and mentoring young racers to be the best they can be both on and off the track. I am very passionate about snowmobiles and I want others to succeed. Life is short and I want to encourage people to follow their dreams. I currently live in Moorhead, Minnesota with my wife, Thora and three kids. My family is very important to me and I strive to do my best.
