KLIM ATHLETES BATTLE IN SALT LAKE CITY ENDUROCROSS

Breakout ride for Max Gerston in third place

Rigby, Idaho (March 24, 2015) – KLIM EnduroCross athletes took to Energy Solutions Arena in full-force over the weekend representing well during KLIM’s “home” race of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship series.

Headlining the performances was longtime KLIM rider Max Gerston’s breakthrough ride in the Professional ranks as he fought his way to third overall in Pro Main Event. The Factory Beta pilot took his 300 RR two-stroke to the front of the pack early, narrowly escaping a massive second-turn pileup. From there, the friendly and fast Arizonian used his skill and training to keep him in second place for much of the race. It wasn’t until the last half of the 15-lap race that he was passed for third. Gerston held on in the final laps to take third. The race was the best finish of his career and one he hopes starts something big.

“I’m feeling like a million bucks,” Gerston said after the race. “It feels so good and it feels like this is where I belong. I’ve been working so, so hard during the week. My DA8 Training has been taking me to another level and I eat, breathe, and sleep EnduroCross. Hopefully this is a start of a big thing. I really have so much fun out here racing and am very fortunate to be here.”

Cody Webb and the KLIM-clad FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis went into Salt Lake City with the points lead in the Pro Class after a dominating performance by Webb at round one in Daytona Beach, Florida. The marquee rider rode fast all night through practice, qualifying and timed Hot Laps. However, the second-turn pileup in the main event took him down and he spent a lot of time trying to get back on his bike. He rallied for a fourth place finish, salvaging valuable points and keeps the points lead (although he now shares it with Rockstar/Lucas Oil/Husqvarna’s Colton Haaker who has finished second at the first two rounds).

Young gun, and recently crowned 2015 Maxxis SuperEnduro Junior World Champion for his great racing in europe earlier this year, Ty Tremaine had a positive night. He finished 6th in the main event after the chaotic second turn.

Longtime EnduroCross racer and member of the FMF/RPM/KTM Racing Team Maxxis rider Bobby Prochnau had a scary crash in the final turns of his Hot Lap. The talented Canadian flipped his KTM forward, putting him down, hard and injuring his arm in the process.

The next round of EnduroCross kicks off on Friday night before the Supercross finals in Las Vegas on May 1st, 2015 at the Orleans Arena. Get tickets today at www.endurocross.com
