Ride Must Go On
KLIM is excited to announce our partnership with Tolga Basol, a filmmaker turned adventure motorcycle rider. Basol, an Istanbul, Turkey native, bought his first motorcycle about 12 years ago and has since used his holidays from work in the media industry to travel to different parts of the world.
After traveling to Afghanistan, Iran, Jordan, Greece, Romania, Austria, Italy, and Thailand (to name just a few countries), Basol has decided to leave his job on the wayside. After dubbing the trip “Ride Must Go On,” finally, Basol is able to fulfill what he says is, “the biggest dream in my life: riding around the world on a motorcycle.”
Basol’s current adventure started on the 1st of July, 2014 in Istanbul. The first leg of his route will lead him through Russia, Mongolia, and Sibera. From there, he may continue through Southeast Asia or hop the ocean to North America. He will make a stop for Dakar 2015 in South America before heading to Africa. Plans are subject to change, but you can view a detailed map of his travels on his website.
Basol will be riding a KTM 1190 Adv R and is equipped with our KLIM Adventure Rally jacket and pants, Adventure Glove, and Element Glove Long, as well as various KLIM base and windproof layers. An avid film maker, Basol shoots video while riding and will carry along video equipment on his travels. He promises to share photos and videos throughout his journey.
