Duluth Race Report
Tim Tremblay Leads Team Sweep Of AMSOIL Dominator RaceAurora, Minn (December 2, 2013) The much anticipated start to the 2013-14 AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour was a giant success for the entire sport, as warm temps and sunny skies greeted an overflow crowd who witnessed three days of racing on one of the best tracks in the history of the Duluth National.
AMSOIL Ski-doo team riders Tim Tremblay and Robbie Malinoski also started the weekend on a successful note. After talking part in a number of appearances and school visits in the Twin Ports area, the racers stole the spotlight in the Friday night Dominator showdown, eliminating the rest of the 16 man field in head-to-head competition before squaring off with each other in the $10, 000 to win final. Tremblay gained a slight edge at the start and held on for the prestigious win in a two-lap dogfight.
After sweeping the Duluth National last season, the team ran into some bad luck during rounds one and two of Pro Open competition this year. Robbie Malinoski raced to a ninth place finish on Saturday after charging from the back of the field, while Tremblay was taken out of both finals by contact from over aggressive rivals and only able to continue on Sunday for an eighth.
