Great pants, but hard on the knees if you're tall
Georgianna K Wood
I've been riding with my Klim Altitude pants for a little over a year, both as a daily commuter, and on off-road tours. What I like about them is that they are truly waterproof, even in the crotch, and the leather inside the knee makes a huge difference for gripping the shroud / tank when up on the pegs. I also like the low front waist for comfort while seated on the bike. The downfall, and this is a big one for me, is the length. Klim added 4" of length, but it's all below the knee. What happens for me is the knee pad is pulled hard against my knee, and after an hour or so my knees are killing me. I wear a size 10, and have a 33" inseam. My ask of Klim would be to distribute the extra 4" with options for both 2" above the knee, and 2" below the knee.
Best Option for Women Snow Bikers!
I use these for snow biking and they work excellent for that!!!! I stay completely dry in the seat area as well as every where else. I wear these with the Klim Havoc snow bike boot and all though these don't have boot gators, I have not once had snow get in my boots! I actually love not having to deal with boot gators! These pants also fit me very nicely! I'm 5'4" and 128 lbs. I also sewed the other half of the already attached zipper on the pants to my preferred snowboard style jacket's powder skirt so I essentially create a powder suit. It's been the perfect gear combination for me yet!
