Good cold weather balaclava
My preferred cold weather balaclava. The Ninja balaclava is my favorite as it offers a variety of options for wearing it and is easy to talk, eat, and drink in, but when it gets really cold I switch to this one for best coverage.
I enjoyed this particular piece of clothing so much that I started wearing it everywhere. never taking it off. Eventually it became very dirty after profuse sweating on my part. But I still refused to take it off, even if people near me started to make comments on the smell. Eventually all my friends alienated me and now my wife wants a divorce. It was all worth it anyways, after all, I look like a ninja.
Excellent breath deflector
Best balaclava I have found for use with MX style helmets. These balaclavas are warm enough to work for Alaska range rides and the breath deflector is well designed. The sewing around the plastic clip that keeps breath deflector will wear after a season or so of hard use but that's to be expected.
Winter Cyclists must have
I am a winter cyclist and without question this is the best Balaclava you can buy for commuting to/from work. When I initially considered this I was worried that I would struggle to breath without labouring, but I am able to breath normally without issue. This also keeps you warm in the -45C I frequently encounter. The top of the head cover is thin so it can easily fit under what I imagine most of the time is a sledders helmet, however those helmets provide more insulation. In a bicycle use case all I do is add another beanie to the top and maybe an extra ear band as this all fits neatly under my helmet. Couple this with a wind block cap on your Bike helmet and you will never be cold. If you commute in a more reasonable winter climate you can just wear this as is and shouldn't need to worry about being too cold or too hot, it seems to regulate fairly well.
