this jacket works
I have been wearing this coat for about 6 weeks, in that time i have been in 50 degree rain to 80 degrees sunny and the coat worked great. I like the fabric and design. The smooth texture is a nice change from the ballistic fabric i normally use/have. The gore tex enhances multiple climate changes. There are adequate air vents from the arms to the torso, when vented, the coat remains quite, the design does not push water to the seams. Size is comfortable, I wear a 40 suit size and wear a medium carlsbad, snug but able to wear a thermoball without being too tight.I like the neck design also in that it really prevents drafts going down the neck.overall, my favorite jacket for all seasons.
WOODZMAN ADVENTURES Tested ! Awesome !
The Carlsbad Jacket it awesome ! I wear it to work and back every day and it very comfortable. I have worn it on 90 degree days and it's amazing how well the vents work. I have had it on a 3 hour rain ride and I stayed nice and dry ! I reccomend this jacket !
Very impressed after 1st ride
First ride today with my Carlsbad. Temp averaged from 3C - 10C. I was worried about warmth. Worries are gone. The coat and pants were amazing, with a warm base layer on only I was perfectly fine. Coat also felt very light compared to my old insulated coat.
Great Jacket & Warm for the PNW
Since purchasing the KTM 1090 AdvR, I’ve been riding with the Carlsbad Jacket and Pants. Both have kept me warm and dry during the cool foggy mornings driving home for work, couple of them I would have sworn it was raining due to the fog being so think. But I have had the pleasure of getting caught in the rain as well. The droplets seem to bead up in the fabric and stay there, thirty minutes later I was still dry and warm. With that being said I should note that I have yet to wear a thick or heavy base layer, a long sleeve dry wicking athletic shirt and shorts underneath with some thicker long socks. In my book they pasted the test and I would recommend this gear setup to anyone.
Rally Connex Approved
We've been using this jacket for 1 full year now in a whole assortment of weather conditions. From hot summer days, wet spring damp days and cold snowy days. This Jack has exceeded all of our expectations and it is truly the right choice for the aggressive Adventure Rider who wants something lightweight but with great protection.
The tough, protective, lightweight jacket you can take anywhere
This review is a personal thank you to the team at Klim for making this jacket. I took it on a 4.5 month journey through Europe and Morocco and it did everything I needed it to do. It was my most reliable piece of gear in terms of keeping me dry, or ventilating well in the heat, providing enough pockets and utility for practical use and it helped me walk away from a low-side I had without a scratch, bump or bruise. This all comes in a lightweight package. I have this jacket to thank for my health and the ability to keep riding through the elements. Time to replace my shredded jacket, and sad to see this outgoing model without my size and color left in stock.
Not Perfect, but Still Good
I'm very happy with this jacket. It's not perfect, but it's pretty good. I am 6 ft tall, about 185 lbs, with long arms, and I ride a 2018 Honda Africa Twin. I went with a large and it fits very well. It comes with D30 armor, but no chest protection. I prefer wearing a Leatt upper body protector under the jacket in lieu of the jacket's integrated D30 armor when I'm riding off-pavement. Solid jacket nonetheless and I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase and I would buy it again. Pros: kept me dry while riding in rain on the highway, armor is removable, without armor it fits over my Leatt upper body protector, roomy enough to wear layers and even a puffy underneath when it gets cold, and the pockets are alright. Cons: doesn't seem to have good airflow on a hot day when all vents are open, even at highway speeds. It may be unfounded, but I'm concerned about pads staying in place during a crash. No chest protection.
