Monday Morning Debrief Dec 19
Every weekend KLIM athletes and ambassadors across the globe tackle some of the gnarliest terrain and push their abilities to see what they’re really capable of. Here’s a quick recap of where KLIM athletes put their gear to the test this weekend.

At the opening round of the 16-round ISOC AMSOIL Championship Snocross series in West Fargo, N.D., KLIM Race Spec gear was on the podium all three days of sub-zero temperatures.
Friday’s AMSOIL Dominator race featured Pro and Pro Lite racers going head-to-head with $10,000 up for grabs on the Supercross-style track.
Emil Harr of the Polaris factory-backed Judnick Motorsports team came out swinging at the opening round, winning his first heat by over four seconds before a wild crash in the second heat (Watch a clip, here).
On Saturday for Round 1, Harr finished third in the Pro class after a fifth place start.
"The highlight of the weekend was the podium," Harr said. "It's always fun to be up there."
At Round 2 on Sunday, Harr finished sixth after a seventh place start and left North Dakota third in points heading into the next event on Jan. 13-14 in Shakopoee, Minn.
"I will rest a lot under the Christmas break and also eat a lot of good food," added the Swedish rider. "The track was awesome -- one of the best I've ever raced on. My KLIM gear worked perfect this weekend. Looks good, too!"
Riding for the Scheuring Speed Sports team, Logan Christian finished inside the top 10 on Saturday and fifth at Round 2 on Sunday. Leaving the weekend in the top 5 in points “is always a plus after the first race," he said.
Looking forward to the next event in Minnesota, Logan added that he needs to pick up his aggressiveness in the finals.
“I have the sled and the speed but easy things to work on to be up top,” he added. “When it gets that cold it always gets super icy so that’s tough to work with.”
With “real feel” temperatures below zero, Logan said he was expecting frozen fingers but never had an issue wearing Race Spec. “The gear was very warm and easy to move around in while not being bulky,” he added.
Hunter Patenaude put his Scheuring Speed Sports Ski-Doo on top in all three of Friday’s Dominator heats before the final event where he finished second out of three after a first-place start.
“The highlight of the weekend was being able to make it to the final round of the Dominator," Patenaude said. "It was cool to make it that far and to be able to battle for the $10,000."
At Round 1 on Saturday, the Vermont rider got caught in a crash off the start and damaged his sled, which put him two laps down by the finish for 12th overall. On Sunday, he finished 11th.
"There's a lot to work on over the break," Patenaude added. "I'm really happy with where we are as a team...One thing I love about this team is there's no quit in us and we're never going to put the blame on anyone else."
The KC Motorsports team fielded two Pro-Lite class riders with Evan Christian and Evan Daudt finishing inside the top five both days.
Evan Christian placed second in his first heat, third in Round 2 heat and fifth in the final for Round 1. At Round 2 on Sunday, Christian, of Finley, N.D, finished first in his first heat, second in his second and third in the final.
“My highlight of the weekend was ending on the podium,” Christian said Monday. “The track was super rough and tough so it was awesome to be able to get on the box.”
Over the break, Christian said he plans to work on starts and cleaning up his race craft: “The biggest challenge I had over the weekend was navigating the super icy and rough track.”
Adding that the Race Spec gear is amazing, Christian said it kept him “good and warm.”
“The gear is lightweight and very flexible. I am very happy with the KLIM gear. It performs just as good as it looks!”
Evan Daudt finished first in Round 1 heat, second in Round 2 heat and third in the final.
“My highlight of the weekend was definitely getting on the box on the first day of the season,” Daudt said Monday. “In the past I haven’t been a strong starter, so it feels really good to overcome that and start the season with some momentum!”
At Round 2 on Sunday, Daudt of Longville, Minn., finished fourth in his first heat, and third in his second and fifth in the final.
Over the break, he said he plans to work on having a super strong and flawless first lap to help get out front right away.
“My biggest challenge last weekend was mistakes on lap one,” he said, adding that Red River Valley Speedway was one of the best tracks he ever raced on. “It was great to have such a wide variety of obstacles and they let the track get rough, which played to my strengths.”
“This year's Race Spec gear definitely did the trick in the subzero temps and 30 mph winds,” Daudt said. “I wore the Revolt Jacket and was very pleasantly surprised at how well it deflected the frigid gusts. I have also been wearing the Havoc GTX BOA boot, which is quite a bit smaller and more versatile than other brands, and I went all day with warm dry feet!”
