Great When Riding
So I've probably have put around 15,000 kilometres riding with these pants and when riding they are great. The vents work well when needed, they are waterproof when in the rain and more than comfortable when riding. Pockets are large and easily accessible. My pants are an earlier version that has the GPS holder on the left thigh which my Inreach fits nicely. The problem with these pants are when you have to use the washroom. It is quite the struggle to get the pants down far enough while wearing my Toucans so that I can sit on a toilet. I have to open my boots, push the knee protectors in to the now open boot and force the rest of the pants as close to my knees as I can. Never over the knees so I would be comfortable. All the protectors stop the pants from doing what most pants do by collecting around the shins. If you are in a hurry to sit down, forget it. It takes me a minute or two to get to the point where I can sit and do my business.
Great pants! But...
I love the general build quality of these pants. They are extremely durable and comfortable at the same time. For such heavy pants the weight is not bad at all. Best protection means also heavy price, worth it. The only thing I don't like about them is the quality of the button at the waist. They pop loose very easily, especially when transitioning from sitting to standing and sitting. I wish they would get rid of the press buttons and a Tactical style button. Other then that they are good.
