Senior Technical Designer

Essential Responsibilities

 

The Senior Technical Designer will be responsible for directly managing all aspects of the development of multiple products across multiple categories, from design hand-off to final pre-production prototype.  This position requires driving and developing products to achieve quality standards. 

 

Duties

 

  • - Other duties may be assigned.
  • - Manage one or more product categories from design concept to production garment
  • - Build technical packages including Bill of Materials, specs, pattern blocks, construction, etc.
  • - Responsible for training and monitoring performance of direct reports
  • - Responsible for establishing category standards for fit, construction and quality
  • - Directly responsible for running fit sessions on live models then making fit changes via pattern corrections
  • - Responsible for establishing pattern blocks for the category and maintaining a pattern library
  • - Responsible for daily communication with vendors
  • - Accountable for meeting development calendar dates and start of production timelines
  • - Ability to work effectively cross-functionally;  Must be able to effectively problem solve design, costing, quality and delivery issues
  • - Domestic and overseas travel as necessary
  • - Give product presentations related to fit and construction

Qualifications:

 

  • - BA/BS Degree from a 4 Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising program
  • - Minimum 5 years relative industry experience with Outerwear Product
  • - Experience working with Seam Sealed Garments, Gore is a plus
  • - Experience working with Insulated garments including Down
  • - Advanced patternmaking skills (must have on the job experience, not classes/theory only)
  • - Experience fitting on live models, including size sets; Ability to recommend changes in grading
  • - Advanced knowledge of garment construction
  • - Expertise building Development & Production Tech Packs
  • - Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • - Proficient in a PDM/PLM system , Centric is a plus
  • - Factory travel is a plus
  • - Gerber Accumark/PDS experience is a plus
  • - Must have leadership experience including direct reports, is a plus
  • - Must have superior written and verbal communication skills.  Must be able to lead product presentations in a clear, concise, engaging manner.

 

Logistics Clerk

Essential Function

 

The Logistics Clerk is responsible for providing visibility to KLIM’s inbound and outbound international freight shipments.  Main point of contact for the domestic trucking operation in the USA and assists with similar programs in Canada and Europe.  Leads the efforts in packaging and shipping optimization reducing freight spend and damaged goods.   

 

Duties

 

  • - Enter and maintain shipment information in ERP ensuring visibility to all viewers.
  • - Track and monitoring international inbound and outbound shipments to ensure the timely arrival of products to various locations throughout the world.
  • - Communicating with domestic trucking operation for planning and authorizing inbound loads.
  • - Prepare reports relating to delivery dates of purchase orders and parts production.
  • - Create and maintain product packaging guidelines which include; barcoding, carton size, carton pack, and carton artwork.
  • - Increase freight capacity by utilizing optimization software.
  • - Create and update container loading instructions.
  • - Maintain Parts database in ERP composed of HTS codes, duty rates, box dimensions and quantities.
  • - Assist in checking invoices in ERP system.
  • - Maintain freight rates.
  • - Assist and direct projects as needed.
  • - Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. 

 

Knowledge & Skills

 

Minimum of High School Degree, Associates or higher Degree desired. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient in the use of personal computers; Microsoft Word and Excel software. Experience using freight optimization software is preferred.  Strong analytical understanding and capacity to perform analytical functions. Strong interest and understanding of ecommerce business, drop shipping, carrier management, home delivery, reverse logistics, etc. Understanding of Supply chain management in a wholesale distribution environment is a plus.

Return & Exchange Processor

Description

 

Essential Function

 

  • - Verify that the items received match what the customer was authorized to return
  • - Inspect returned items for damage, and determine whether to accept or reject the items
  • - Clean, re-barcode, and repackage items so that they may be returned to sellable inventory
  • - Determine restocking fees based on the condition of the returned items
  • - Enter returned items into inventory using warehouse management system and digital scanner
  • - Distribute returned items back into appropriate bin locations throughout the warehouse
  • - Assist the warehouse team with basic duties when needed and available
  • - Receive orders of inventory from dealers and representatives from shows
  • - Accept/Sign for incoming packages
  • - Execute various other tasks as assigned.

 

 

Trim Developer/Colorist

Description

 

This position combines the skills of a Trim Developer and a Colorist. Including the development of new trim components originating from either technical drawings or and inspiration sample/photo. Approve color for all materials (fabric & trims). Provide technical support and trend direction for color and trims. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work  in both an independent and collaborative environments.

 

Main Responsibilities

Trim Development

 

  • - Initiate development of trim components for apparel and accessories utilizing Factory resources and nominated suppliers
  • - Source New Trims form trade shows, supplier visits, market research and design briefings
  • - Drive Quality requirements and ensure developed components are tested and meet Klim’s “Fit for Use” standards
  • - Work cross functionality on any costing related challenges
  • - Manage Lab Dip approval to development timeline
  • - Present trim trends to design
  • - Partner with Design to identify new seasonal development
  • - Negotiate price, minimums, production location, lead-times
  • - Maintaining all component and testing data within PLM database

Colorist

 

  • - Manage the lab dip approval process from color palette development for fabrics and Trims.
  • - Collaborate with Design and Materials teams to determine color achievability across all materials
  • - Manage Lad Dip approval to timeline

Requirements:

 

  • - Acceptable result of Farnsworth - Munsell 100
  • - Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • - Adobe Illustrator
  • - Excellent communication skills. Able to drive conversations with Vendors, Suppliers, Design, Development, Quality, Sourcing and Production
  • - Training will be provided for PLM Centric; main systems used to generate and document all Trim Components development and Testing data.
  • - Travels as necessary to innovate and finalize development or approve color.
