Sr. Product Developer

Essential Function

 

The Senior Product Development position is responsible for helping drive continuity between multiple team members and their products within a product category to ensure fit, function, performance, and quality are consistent with a customer’s expectations. They oversee their team’s progress of development for all aspects of the product starting from initial design to production prototype. They heavily focus on process implementation and maintenance, innovation, and mentorship.

Duties and responsibilities – Focus on consistency of product process, quality, and customer expectation. Has knowledge and skill set to be able to support where needed and is able to lead a team.

 

  • - Understands PLM system and how to audit reports used to drive consistency

Lifestyle Apparel Designer

Essential Functions

 

The Apparel Designer determines style, material, and color directions based on input from the customer, merchandising, sales, marketing, development and sourcing staff.  Keeps abreast of fashion trends and consumer needs, and supports the integrity of the lines/brands and the goals of the company.  Produces design sketches and makes seasonal presentations of product designs.  Reviews all styles for construction, silhouette, fit and trim details, and approves quality of factory samples. 3+ year’s experience in a Lifestyle brand, preferably a brand with heavy direct to consumer presence.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • - Responsible for the cohesiveness of assigned product categories.
  • - Design a given number of products per season as well as managing carry- overs for assigned collections.
  • - Attend trade shows, research global markets review industry publications to stay current with market trends and identify new fabrics and techniques.
  • - Administers a pro-active role through entire product design process: research, design concept presentation, illustrations, fit and fabric/trim/print direction, development of specification pack, critique of sales samples.

Klim Warehouse Laborer (Temp)

Job Summary

 

The Warehouse team members are engaged to uphold the integrity of the Klim brand. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can retain knowledge and are detail oriented. The candidate will Pick, Pack and Ship orders. They will receive and put away new product as it come in.

 

This role is Temporary and will be based on business needs working Monday - Friday, 8AM to 5PM. There is potential for this to become a permanent position depending on performance and business need. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • - Inspect arrivals against packing lists for quantity verification.
  • - Monitor and inspect inventory levels for accuracy.
  • - Alert appropriate departments of all arrivals and initiate proper placement of shipment.
  • - Manage bin locations.
  • - Fill orders by using a digital scanner and hand pick method.
  • - Work with shipping program to ship appropriate orders to customers.
  • - Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • - Work with internal customers to complete special projects assigned.

Sr. Materials Vendor Specialist

Essential Function

 

The Sr. Materials Vendor Specialist will be responsible for managing all the current and future fabric and material vendor relationships at Klim. This position will need to develop deep relationships with these vendors which will allow us to take full advantage of the products and services they offer. Will help with the strategic direction for long term fabric and material development planning and implementation. Will drive cost savings by implementing strategies for consolidating orders, streamlining supply chains, and all other cost savings opportunities that arise.   

 

The Sr. Materials Vendor Specialist will be involved with the planning, coordination, evaluation, and control of the manufacturing processes of fabrics and materials. This position ensures that fabrics and materials are produced at the correct time, cost, and quality with partners that are compliant to the KLIM standards. Will be responsible for all contract negotiations with each supplier. Will be responsible for all compliance related information, legislation, and actions taken regarding fabrics, materials, and finished goods.

Essential Function

 

Direct the production of finished goods for Klim and other assigned brands with industry leading quality through committed, transparent partners. Support partner relationships that support strict commitments. Managing Director of production allocation, strategic costing, quality of product, and timeline for on time delivery of quality products.

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • - Responsible for year over year improvement in quality of finished goods which encompasses the evaluation of prior statistical product data and managing quality control. This also includes managing a team of production professionals that ensure all factories have complete and accurate data to produce the world class garments that are required.
  • - Accountable for managing and training a team to ensure actual cost savings year over year through allocation of product to factories that creates breadbasket cost savings, process, and efficacy improvements, and finished product negotiations.
  • - Evaluation of capabilities and intimately understanding capacity constraints of each partner factory will be required to find arbitrage opportunities that allow purchase orders to be placed as close to the market demand as possible while ensuring product will arrive on time for all launches.
  • - Must have the ability to build long term strategic plans and relationships with the business acumen that can see macroeconomic swings and understand the long-term effects on production and the implications to our long-term strategic partners.
  • - Responsible to use data to formulate and measure business strategies with ability to change plan as inputs and outputs of the factories and our business change.
  • - In control of managing KPI’s and adding new measurables as needed then is responsible to ensure subordinates clearly distribute KPI’s to factory to ensure expectations are clear and plans for improvement can be extended in a timely manner.
  • - Need to understand what it takes to actualy manufacture our goods so reasonable expectations can be managed with partner factories and by the same token understand enough to be able to push for the results that are required for continued growth and success.

  • - Team is responsible to manage production of raw material supply chain from greige forecasting to finished garments for quality and on time delivery
  • - Manage Quality Control Manager regarding inspection approvals for on time exit factory date
  • - Prepares, recommends, and tracks operating and personnel budgets for approval.
  • - Monitors spending for adherence to budget, recommends variances as necessary.
  • - Alerts departmental leaders regarding timeline requirements for Final Production TDP, Marketing POP and packaging requirements are ready in time for PO placement.
  • - Ensures all Timeline Milestones are met by other departments to ensure production happens in an efficient and timely manner.

Materials Innovation Manager

Essential Function

 

The Materials Innovation Specialist will be responsible for finding and developing new and innovative fabrics and materials that will drive Klim’s relentless pursuit of exceeding customers’ expectations. Will be responsible for testing these fabrics and materials both in a lab and in the field. Will need to develop deep relationships with our current fabric and material suppliers which will allow us to stay on the leading edge of their new developments. Will also need to continually seek out new suppliers that will drive fabric and material innovation. Will help with the strategic direction of long-term fabric and material development planning and implementation. Will be responsible for maintaining an organized material library.

 

The Materials Innovation Specialist will be involved with the planning, coordination, evaluation, and control of the manufacturing processes regarding fabric and materials. Will ensures that fabrics and materials are produced at the correct time, cost, and quality.

      Duties and Responsibilities 

      • - Uses industry experience to provide ideas for improved construction, materials, or components to enhance functionality, aesthetics, and fit for on body bags and luggage.
      • - Recommends construction, material, or manufacturing suggestions to meet target sample costs. They are proficient in executing pre-costing exercises. Manages costing within PLM System.
      • - Explores innovation techniques
      • - They are working to get prototypes or samples of innovation that can be refined prior to implementing in the product line
      • - Reinforces proper processes and standards of construction, compliance, operations, and system requirements
      • - Aware of all stage gates and their associated deliverables
      • - Takes lead on special projects as needed
      • - Approves all Production documentation for their product category
      • - Is comfortable sharing knowledge in the form of training others
      • - Adheres to product/seasonal timelines

      Qualifications

      • - Bachelors’ Degree in Technical Design or equivalent experience in related area with 7+ years’ experience.
      • - Computer skills required in Adobe Illustrator and MS Office.
      • - Experience in complex construction such as insulated or seam sealed items is a plus.
      • - Has prior experience working on bags and/or luggage
      • - Understands manufacturing processes as it relates to bag development

      Associate Product Developer (Temp)

      Job Summary

      The Associate Product Developer will be responsible for directly assisting the Product Developer with Style Development. Responsibilities include assisting with development of product, from initial design to production prototype, based on Center of Excellence Quality Standards. Responsibilities also include, inputting data into PLM system, following timeline requirements, and keeping all development samples organized and labeled.This is a temporary position and is not benefit eligible. There may be future opportunity for a full-time benefit eligible role. This position is required to be in office.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • - Maintaining technical drawings and construction illustrations for the product using Adobe Illustrator.
      • - Building and maintaining Bills of Materials in accordance with style specifications. Including:
        • - Correct fabrics and trims are being used according to design
        • - Yields are consistent with construction
        • - Colors are properly input, requested, and maintained
        • - All items are maintained to most recent “Approved” status
      • - Accurately measure garments in preparation for Fit sessions.
      • - Maintaining size chart as recommended by Fit Specialist.
      • - Responsible for maintaining all Carryover documentation. Including:
        • - Carrying over previous season’s specifications/documentation
        • - Updating materials/trims that have been “Abandoned” or “Inactivated” within the Bill of Materials
        • - Ensure all lab dips are current and in “Approved” status
          • - If necessary, request new color development
        • - Ensure all technical drawings are applied to the appropriate Centric template
        • - Create and send Technical Data Packages to factories
      • - Able to provide suggestions to adhere to target sample costs.
      • - Inputs costing and factory comments into PLM System
      • - Review prototypes, pre-production, and production samples against technical packages.
      • - Assists with internal wash testing as recommended by Product Developer/Sr. Product Developer
      • - Maintains Centric System and Tracking Views
      • - Contribute ideas for construction, materials, and components to enhance functionality, aesthetics and fit.
      • - Assists with communicating with internal team, and factories during the development process.
      • - Able to assist in mock-up production
      • - Adhere to product/seasonal timelines

      Qualifications

      • - Bachelors’ Degree in Technical Design or equivalent experience in related area with 1-3 years’ experience.
      • - Patternmaking or CAD experience is preferred. 
      • - Computer skills required in Adobe Illustrator and MS Office.
      • - Centric PLM System experience is a plus.
      • - Ability to adhere to deadlines
      • - Has ability to self-manage tasks
      • - Able to brainstorm solutions and communicate using proper terminology
      • - Ability to clearly communicate with written and oral skills to internal teams and factory contacts
