Warranty Processor/Repair Intern

Description

 

Essential Function

 

Directly responsible for handling requests and warranty related issues for both retail and dealer customers. Maintain Klim quality and an acceptable level of productivity per department guidelines.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

- Process an array of highly complex incoming and outgoing warranty and repair items while continually meeting strict department deadlines.

- Correct errors on claims

- Identify and process all KLIM products to ensure that the quality and warranty guidelines are followed and documented appropriately.

- Handle special projects.

- Physically able to lift 35 pounds on a consistent basis.

- Basic garment construction and basic knowledge of sewing terminology.

- Light sewing to repair warranty items.

- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.

 

Qualifications

 

- Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail a must.

- Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.

Trim Developer/Colorist

Description

 

This position combines the skills of a Trim Developer and a Colorist. Including the development of new trim components originating from either technical drawings or and inspiration sample/photo. Approve color for all materials (fabric & trims). Provide technical support and trend direction for color and trims. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work  in both an independent and collaborative environments.

 

Main Responsibilities

Trim Development

 

  • - Initiate development of trim components for apparel and accessories utilizing Factory resources and nominated suppliers
  • - Source New Trims form trade shows, supplier visits, market research and design briefings
  • - Drive Quality requirements and ensure developed components are tested and meet Klim’s “Fit for Use” standards
  • - Work cross functionality on any costing related challenges
  • - Manage Lab Dip approval to development timeline
  • - Present trim trends to design
  • - Partner with Design to identify new seasonal development
  • - Negotiate price, minimums, production location, lead-times
  • - Maintaining all component and testing data within PLM database

Colorist

 

  • - Manage the lab dip approval process from color palette development for fabrics and Trims.
  • - Collaborate with Design and Materials teams to determine color achievability across all materials
  • - Manage Lad Dip approval to timeline

Requirements:

 

  • - Acceptable result of Farnsworth - Munsell 100
  • - Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
  • - Adobe Illustrator
  • - Excellent communication skills. Able to drive conversations with Vendors, Suppliers, Design, Development, Quality, Sourcing and Production
  • - Training will be provided for PLM Centric; main systems used to generate and document all Trim Components development and Testing data.
  • - Travels as necessary to innovate and finalize development or approve color.

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service team is an elite set of members engaged to uphold the integrity of the KLIM Brand. This position is full time and requires someone who is dedicated and punctual. The ability to multi-task and creatively problem solve are essential. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can retain knowledge and training. The candidate should also demonstrate initiative and strong organizational skills. The Customer Service Professional is responsible for providing exceptional service to every customer and will respond to telephone, email and live chat customer inquiries in an efficient, professional and friendly manner.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • - Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services.
  • - Opens customer accounts by recording account information.

Quality Control Manager

Essential Functions

 

This contract position manages all Teton Outfitters Global Quality Control teams and process systems for finished product quality.  This position is offered on a contract basis and located in Asia.. Build solid relationships with factory quality control teams to ship quality product, on time, using the newest and most efficient quality standards.  Supervise the Quality Control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection and proper storage of Quality Records. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  • - Keep quality inspection teams up to date on all new standards and processes.
  • - Follow up with product development team regarding accurate and approved TDP’s prior to and during inspections.
  • - Communicate warranty issues to factories monthly/quarterly.
  • - Monthly completion of the Major vs. Minor Report
  • - Follow up WIP and Inspection SOP with all factories and QC Team.
  • - Maintain thorough knowledge of all product categories to assist QC team in all inspection questions and judgement calls.
  • - Requires the management, training, hiring and scheduling of entire Quality Control Team for all brands. 
  • - Supervise workers engaged in inspection activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity for all brands.
  • - Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to represent quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • - Provide technical and statistical expertise to QC teams.
  • - Maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives built by design and development.
  • - Coordinate production and construction obstacles with factory QC teams, to ensure finished product meets Teton Outfitters standards, and drive those standards at the factory level.
  • - Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures. 
  • - Build and interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Teton Outfitters.
  • - Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.
  • - Interact with production manager to ensure on time delivery and quality of all purchased raw materials.

  • - Confirm excess inventory at each factory post PO shipping with Production Materials Specialist.
  • - Create process for in house DC spot inspections and urgent consumer feedback.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

 

  • - Applicant must speak, read and write fluently in the English language.  Chinese and Vietnamese is a plus, but not required.
  • - Applicant must have a valid passport and ability to attain visas to following countries if necessary, USA, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, South Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Jordan.
  • - Must have a proven track record as a successful manager of people with excellent communication and strong people skills.

Apparel Designer

 

Essential Functions

 

The Apparel Designer will design products such as lifestyle, base layers, mid layers, and technical outerwear. You will work closely with the Design Director to determine style, material, and color stories based on input from the customer, merchandising, sales, and marketing. Keeps abreast of fashion trends and consumer needs, and supports the integrity of the lines/brands and the goals of the company.  Produces design sketches and tech packs.  Reviews all styles for construction, silhouette, fit and trim details. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • - Responsible for designing a given number of products per season as well as managing carry- overs for assigned collections.
  • - Attend trade shows, research global markets review industry publications to stay current with market trends and identify new fabrics and techniques.
  • - Work with Design Director to develop seasonal color stories and inspiration boards.
  • - Research and understand the consumer of assigned collections.
  • - Administers a pro-active role through entire product design process: research, design concept presentation, illustrations, fit and fabric/trim/print direction, development of specification pack, critique of sales samples.
  • - Follow and design to the product brief. Work with the Tech Team to insure designs will hit the specific target FOB.
  • - Creates on-strategy designs within set timelines for multiple seasons.
  • - Capacity to imagine, capture and express a brand’s ethos through unique product concepts, design and styling.
  • - Create tech packs with detailed specifications for production.
  • - Ensures that the product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy.
  • - Assists with fit sessions in office and in factory and work with Tech Designer to deliver the garment fit as briefed by the Product Line Manager.
  • - Drive value-engineering through design process:  consolidation of fabrics, zippers, trims, etc.
  • - Works closely with Materials Manager to select innovative and commercial fabrications to achieve desired functional results.
  • - Collaborates with Design Director and other team members to achieve 'state of the art' opportunities for product innovation.
  • - Supply accurate/complete Design Packs to the Technical Design team on schedule.
  • - Partners with the Technical Design team to ensure tech packs are kept up to date, accurate and complete.
  • - Work with the Technical Design team to review strike offs and samples and make recommendations for corrections.
  • - Travel as necessary to facilitate the development and sampling process.
  • - Successfully performs these and other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

 

  • - BA in Apparel Design or related field of study preferred.
  • - 2-3 years of professional experience in technical apparel.
  • - Understanding of the history and direction of market trends.

  • - Strong eye for color.
  • - Advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • - Strong illustration skills- possess the ability of communicating a concept thru sketching free hand as well as on the computer.
  • - A knowledge of printing techniques and understanding of how graphics will translate onto a printable garment is a plus.
