Apparel Designer

Apparel Designer

 

The  Designer will design products such as bags, footwear, lifestyle, base layers, mid layers, and technical outerwear. You will work closely with the Design Director to determine style, material, and color stories based on input from the customer, merchandising, sales, and marketing. Keeps abreast of fashion trends and consumer needs, and supports the integrity of the lines/brands and the goals of the company.  Produces design sketches and tech packs.  Reviews all styles for construction, silhouette, fit and trim details. 

 

 

  • - Responsible for designing a given number of products per season as well as managing carry- overs for assigned collections.
  • - Attend trade shows, research global markets review industry publications to stay current with market trends and identify new fabrics and techniques.
  • - Work with Design Director to develop seasonal color stories and inspiration boards.

Apparel Fit Specialist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

The Apparel Fit Specialist will be responsible for directly managing all aspects of apparel and accessories fit for multiple products across multiple categories, from design hand-off to final pre-production prototype.  This position requires driving and developing products to achieve defined quality standards. 

Responsibilities also include, product labeling and organization for all Milestone meetings, and collaboration with PLM, Design, and Development.  Monitor Timelines on all projects from design hand-off to production approval and coordinate all tasks with the category team. 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

  • Lead fit sessions and effectively communicate fit intent and balance to vendor base, delivering high quality product in fit, styling, detail, and functionality
  • Create and maintain fit blocks and standards, ensuring overall fit consistency
  • Review style grading and make recommendations
  • Identify potential production and quality concerns and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity, and recommend raw material components to meet brand standard and uphold design intent
  • Highly experienced in patternmaking, fabric knowledge, garment construction, manufacturing processes, and ability to utilize 2D patternmaking software (Gerber Accumark).
  • Ability to sew and construct garments a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of physical fit, evaluation of body size, shape and the relationship of clothing on the target body.

Hard Parts Designer

The Hardparts Designer will work on a variety of different product categories: helmets, goggles, boots and bags.

 

Use your perspective to create products that merchandize back with the apparel line and capture the KLIM DNA. Understand the competitive landscape, leverage hands on experience and customer feedback to uncover areas to improve functionality and create game changing products. Collaborate with the POD (Product Developer and Product Line Manager) throughout the process to insure the functional, design, price point, and quality expectations are met. Develop strong working relationships with sourcing, sales, and marketing partners.

Lifestyle Apparel Developer

Essential Function

 

The Product Developer has a key role in the creation and dissemination of technical information and documentation necessary for the timely and quality manufacture of KLIM products. This position is responsible for the development of product, from design to final prototype, which translates the consumer need into a brand aligned product brief that can be commercialized with profit margins which drive P&L goals. Drive lifestyle and functional products to achieve KLIM’s quality standards. 5+ year’s experience in a Lifestyle brand, preferably a brand with heavy direct to consumer presence.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • - Produce, manipulate, and modify technical sketches of accessory products using Adobe Illustrator based on input from Sales, Branding and Design/Creative;
  • - Using input from Sales, Branding and Design/Creative, account requirements, and institutional knowledge create technical packages containing accurate technical sketches, bills of materials, construction, packaging and other technical information to be used by factories in calculating costs for and producing products;
  • - Together with the Research and Development group review prototype, pre-production, and production samples against technical packages and formulate feedback and constructive criticism together with clear direction that brings about successful completion of projects within given time constraints;
  • - Collaborate with others in the department to manage workloads to meet deadlines while achieving the highest level of quality and accuracy;
  • - Support & assist Design in establishing all product specifications required in the Tech Pack;

Global Logistics Specialist

Essential Function

Responsible for the management of international shipments in a timely, compliant, and cost efficient. Participate in compliance, carrier performance, and cost comparison reviews.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

  • - Serve as liaison to communicate freight transportation information to customers or suppliers, using transportation management, electronic logistics marketplace, or electronic freight information systems, to improve efficiency, speed, or quality of transportation services included but not limited to system solutions.

Lifestyle Direct to Consumer Sales Manager

Essential Function

 

The Lifestyle Direct to Consumer Sales Manager is responsible at the highest level for the direction, vision, and management of Klim’s lifestyle direct to consumer sales. This position will map out Klim’s strategy for direct to consumer sales based on revenue goals, brand initiatives, product offering and current trends both long term and seasonal. This position will leverage the team that collectively will put seasonal plans in place and drive forecasted revenue using direct to customer platforms including but not limited to marketplace, social media, email marketing, and Klim’s website. This position will also need to work with others in the organization to ensure vision and direction are inline with the rest of the company. Other responsibilities include online web image, e-commerce channels, email marketing and social media outlets in relation to lifestyle. The E-Comm portion includes managing KLIM’s B2C lifestyle content pages and end user communication channels with KLIM. The digital media responsibilities are to manage KLIM’s growing lifestyle presences on Klim’s social media channels via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Linkedin and managing all of KLIM’s mass emailing efforts.
