At the Zbroz Beaver Mountain Bash for Round 7 of the 2023 Rocky Mountain States Hillclimb Association series in Garden City, Utah on April 14-15, times were tight in every class with two fast race courses featuring big features and a catwalk jump.

“The qualifying course was technical and very fun,” said Montana’s Dylan Hart. “For finals day, the course was straightened out quite a bit, so it was very fast and any small mistake would cost you positions.”

Hart finished third in Pro 700 Improved Stock, fourth in Pro 700 Stock and fifth in Pro 600 Stock and Pro 600 Improved Stock.

“My KLIM Race Spec gear looked and performed amazing over the range of temperatures on this spring weekend,” Hart added. “It's crazy we're already to the last race. I am ready to go, I'm feeling good, I'm in the hunt for some points championships so that's very exciting. The course at Bear Valley is looking promising with lots of snow so it should be a blast.”

Montana’s Toby Shepherd took second in Pro 700 Modified, fourth in Pro 900 Improved Stock, fifth in Pro 1000 Improved Stock and Pro 600 Modified, plus sixth in Pro Open Modified.

“Beaver Mountain was a great event with lots of sunshine, lots of snow and a great crowd,” Shepherd said Monday. “The course setup was high speed with less technical aspects than normal, which made times very tight.”

“The KLIM Race Spec performed outstanding, keeping me feeling fast and light on the course,” Shepherd added. “Looking to finish strong next weekend at the RMSHA Season Finale at Bear Valley Resort this weekend!”

Idaho’s Tayler Peck finished second in Women Improved Stock, third in Women Stock, Women 700 Stock and Women Modified and said she pushed her comfort zone to go fast.

“I was very happy with my results,” she added. “I am excited for the last race, to push myself and finish the season strong!”

Montana’s Sam Peterson swept three classes with a first in Pro 700 Stock, Pro 900 Stock, Pro 700 Improved Stock, along with second Pro 1000 Stock and fourth in Pro Open Stock.

"The course wasn’t very technical,” Peterson said Monday. “Cold temps at night kept the snow hard, which prevented ruts and bumps. But no matter the course or conditions, everyone had the same chance!”

With one race to go, Peterson said he is excited to see what the new California venue has to offer: “It’s a long trip but I love racing so it is totally worth it!”

Keith Curtis swept three classes with a first in Pro 1000 Stock, Pro Open Stock and Pro 900 Improved Stock, plus second in Pro 900 Stock and fifth in Pro 900 Modified. Tayler Meyers finished first in Women Stock and Women 700 Stock with a second in Women Modified.

"I always love the Beaver Bash," Meyers said. "They have jumps and technical spots on the hill as well as fun extra classes at the end of the day! I am ready and excited for Bear Valley, but sad it is the last race. Huge thanks for all you guys do for me."

Wyoming’s Andy Thomas finished second in Pro 900 Modified and Pro Open Modified along with fourth in Pro 900 Stock, Pro 1000 Stock and Pro Open Stock.

“The course was fun,” Thomas said. “High speed and some really fun jumps. I’m pumped for the last race! Should be a good one.”

At Round 2 of the 2023 AMA West Hare Scramble Championship series in Jacksonville, Oregon, Factory Beta’s Zane Roberts finished five laps in 3:08:30 for fourth overall out of eight in the Pro class after a sixth-place start.

“The course in Oregon was awesome,” Roberts said Monday. “It was really slippery the first couple laps and I struggled to find my groove – unfortunately finding myself on the ground a few times. It took me until about the halfway mark to really get moving.”

By the last lap, he passed into fourth and closed the gap on third by two seconds at the finish.

“I managed to catch up to third place about five minutes before the finish and we battled hard but unfortunately I never found an opening for a pass,” Roberts added. “Always a bummer to finish off the podium but I felt really good in the second half and gained a lot of time on the leaders so that was a plus.”

At Round 5 of the Grand National Cross Country Series in Society Hill, South Carolina, Jesse Ansley finished sixth out of 17 in the XC2 250 Pro class and 11th overall after a 12-place start with seven laps in 3:13:48.

“Camp Coker track was great – just the right amount of hard pack and sand for the Florida boy,” Ansley said Monday. “I always excel when the tracks get gnarly rough and the weather is hot.”

Debuting the new 2023 XC Lite Off-Road Gear, Ansley added: “I can honestly say I’m very happy with how it fits and the ventilation it provided to help keep me cool through the long, grueling three-hour race.”
