Protect Rider and Trail Access
Preserving the Lifestyle
At KLIM, we’re passionate about protecting riders in the most demanding conditions. But our passion for protection goes beyond the ride. Protecting our freedom of access to the places we love to recreate, explore and push ourselves drives us to act for the future of our shared lands.
We believe in management instead of closure, access for all types of outdoor recreation and leading the next generation to be good stewards of the lands we love, share and create lasting memories on.
Whatever your passion, do your part to protect your freedom of access to the great outdoors.
What You Can Do to Protect Land Access
Access to public lands is a privilege that requires shared responsibility. Whether you're riding, snowmobiling, hiking, or camping, every action you take can help preserve outdoor access for generations to come. Here's how you can make a difference:
- Practice Responsible Recreation - Stay on designated trails, obey posted signs, and avoid sensitive habitats. Follow the principles of Tread Lightly!®. This includes traveling responsibly, respecting the rights of others, avoiding sensitive areas, and minimizing your impact. These small actions help prevent erosion, protect wildlife, and keep areas open for multi-use enjoyment.
- Support Pro-Access Groups - Get involved with organizations that promote balanced land management instead of closure. These groups work year-round to represent recreationists and fight for your right to access public land.
- Leave It Better Than You Found It - Pack out your trash, repair trail damage where possible, and help clean up litter when you see it. Stewardship is contagious and when others see your efforts, they’re more likely to follow suit. Land managers and lawmakers notice communities that care.
- Get Involved Locally - Attend public meetings, write to your legislators, or volunteer for trail maintenance days. Decisions about land use are often made at the local or regional level, and your voice can influence policy. Stay informed about land use proposals that affect your area and speak up when access is threatened.
- Educate the Next Generation - Teach young outdoor users the importance of access, responsibility, and sustainability. Encourage them to appreciate the outdoors with respect and understand the privilege of access. A culture of stewardship starts with education and example.
We believe in protecting not only the rider but the ride. Join us in being responsible, proactive, and passionate defenders of our shared outdoor spaces.
