Odd fitting

I ordered these to go with the new Kodiak jacket, which I love. I'm 6 foot, 190lbs with about a 35 inch waist. I wear size 54 in European sizing for my leathers and a 34 x 34 in jeans. Unfortunately, these pants aren't nearly as comfortable as the jacket. The pants are advertised as having stretch gussets in the crotch, but this is minimal at best. I found that I was unable to swing my leg up to sit on my bike, unless I pulled the pants up far past my waist. There is no detectable flex in the crotch. Also, the waist is not elastic. It is quite rigid, with adjustment straps on either side that can be pulled to make the waist tighter. The waist is uncomfortably tight, even with the straps all the way out. Hitching the pants up above my waist causes the knee pads to rest above my knees when I'm sitting on the bike. Removing the knee armor helps with comfort, but then what's the point of that? My initial impression is that the impressive durability far outweighs the comfort.
